Data and account deletion
You can disconnect an inbox, revoke Prune's access through your provider, and delete your Prune account and data. This page explains what each action does, and what it does not.
Eight distinct things, and what changes.
Disconnect a connected inbox
Stops Prune from analyzing that inbox. The inbox itself and its messages are unchanged.
Revoke provider authorization
Withdraws the access you granted Prune through Google or Microsoft.
Remove an inbox from Prune
Removes the inbox and its Prune-side organization from your Prune account.
Delete Prune-generated metadata
Removes derived information Prune created about your communication.
Delete user-created notes and tags
Removes the notes, tags, and groups you added inside Prune.
Delete the entire Prune account
Requests deletion of your Prune account and the data Prune holds.
Messages within Gmail or Outlook
Managed in your email provider. Deleting your Prune account does not delete provider messages.
Information retained by law or policy
Some records may be kept for a limited time for legal, fraud-prevention, billing, backup, or security reasons.

Disconnect an inbox
- Open Prune settings and go to Connected accounts.
- Choose the inbox you want to disconnect.
- Select Disconnect and confirm.
Disconnecting stops further analysis of that inbox. To fully remove Prune's access, also revoke it with your provider.
Revoke provider access
- Google: Google Account → Security → Third-party access → remove Prune.
- Microsoft: Microsoft Account → Privacy / Apps & services → remove Prune.
Revoking access through your provider withdraws the permissions you granted.
Request account deletion
This requests deletion of your Prune account and the data Prune holds. It does not delete messages stored by your email provider. Some records may be retained for a limited time as described above.
This will request deletion of your account.
- Your Prune account and the data Prune holds will be scheduled for deletion.
- Messages in Gmail or Outlook are not affected.
